“Why did this take so long?”
As a freelancer, I kept hearing the same question from clients looking at my reports. They were paying for work they couldn't see - and I had no good tool to show it, so I kept rough notes by hand.
Later I spent close to five years at a US-based company that worked on billable hours. Rebuilding every day's report from memory, across many projects, was lost time. We tried Jira, Harvest, Podio and more; none of them kept the record for me.
Running my own projects, I needed that discipline back - without another monthly subscription.
So I sat down and built Hourlyo on my own.
